We work very hard to give you the best possible shopping experience, so we are delighted to hear from you when we do a good job!

We received the nicest email from Christina Smith, from Houston, about her very first shopping experience at STRUT and we wanted to share is with you.

Christina Smith writes…..

As a part time student with a full time job, I do not get to go shopping much. Not to mention, my budget is very very very small. My occasional shopping trips are to Target to get everything from cat food to sweaters. A lovely combination. For the holidays, I was lucky enough to receive a few items of clothing from my family, knowing I don’t get to shop very often. My sister bought me an adorable dress and necklace. When I asked her where they were from, she said, “Strut, of course.” She has talked about Strut for a long time, and because she works super close to one of the stores, she is constantly showing off her newly bought items. So, when I finally got a chance to shop at Strut, I was duly impressed! The store was having an amazing sale that my sister talked about for weeks! We got there as soon as the store opened, and a few people were already waiting outside to get a first look. The initial thing I noticed, besides the extremely nice young women working there, was how easy the store was to navigate and move around. The store was very open and bright, not overcrowded with racks of clothes and accessories, making it very easy to look through everything. In addition, the items were arranged in a very practical manner, offering ideas for outfits and cute color combinations. The clothes themselves were amazing!!! I was very impressed with the quality/price ratio in addition to the selection. Everyone shopping had a bundle of clothes to try on and buy, including me! Not knowing what to expect, I was pleased with pretty much everything!!! I ended up buying a cute outfit I could wear to work as well as out at night- for under $40. Craziness! All in all, my first visit to Strut was an extremely good one, and I can not wait to go back (or till my sister buys me some more cute things)!!!

Christina in Head to Toe STRUT!

Thanks Christina for the wonderful email

Music Monday Graveyard

Graveyard is playing this Wednesday at Mohawk along with local band Eagle Claw. This song, “Hisingen Blues” comes from their newly release album Hisingen Blues. Joakim Nilsson, Rikard Edlund, Axel Sjöberg, and Truls Mörck formed Graveyard in 2006 in Gothenburg, Sweden, and their first ever US show was at SxSW back in 2008.  Wednesday is sure to be an awesome show and I would highly recommend checking them out.

Music Monday The Blow

Music Monday The Blow with Hey Boy

A little Bio about the BLOW from their Myspace page http://www.myspace.com/theblowus
The Blow was born in 2002 as the solo project of Khaela Maricich. Maricich had performed previously using the name Get The Hell Out of The Way of The Volcano, and before that, as Khaela Maricich. In 2004 Jona Bechtolt joined The Blow for a 2 year residency, during which time The Blow made the records Poor .. Love Songs, and Paper Television. In 2006 The Blow went solo again. During 2006 , 2007 and 2008 The Blow toured the country and other countries and then spent a year on sabattical in Fiji and New York City.

In 2009, The Blow began a new body of work. The new thing is being made in collaboration with the artist Melissa Dyne, who is not a member of the band but is an equally involved in the work (like Brian Eno with The Talking Heads). Throughout 2010 and 2011 they have been peforming live together, developing the new performance and musical material in a visible process, slowly accumulating and altering over time. Along with the performances, Maricich and Dyne have been doing lectures about their work together, and they recently started a series of videos, the first of which can be seen below. The Blow is currently at work on a full length album.

A Dress to Look Twice as Nice

This is twice the dress; business in front and all party in the back.  The black lace makes it perfect for a winter date, and the natural tan makes it a great look for spring.
